Learning Support Assistant

Location: Birmingham, B16, Ladywood

Long Term Futures are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support across year groups with SEN and behaviour. The role will be full time, 5 days per week working from 8:30-3:30 in term time. The role is based at a mainstream primary school in starting in February 2025.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to pupils in a resource base setting
  • Work with groups of children to carry out valuable interventions
  • Assist with students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD
  • Use your creativity and imagination to excite the pupils
  • Working alongside and providing additional support
  • Liaising with the class teacher and school SENCO around progress of pupils
  • Running phonics lessons to children working below age expected levels and also those exceeding
  • Working 1:1 with children who have: autism, ADHD, behavioural challenges & low learning levels
  • Being a positive member of the school staff and promoting their values

The school are looking for candidates who:

  • Hold a relevant degree or TA qualification
  • Have experience working with children within a school
  • Experience of working with special educational needs is desirable
  • Can adapt approach to meet learner's needs
  • Can build relationships with pupils quickly and efficiently
