Pay: 395-430 (Weekly Take Home after Tax & NI)

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with ASD and SEMH needs in a primary school in B30, Kings Norton. This child requires individualised support, including regular learning breaks and time outside the classroom. The role will involve implementing behaviour strategies, building trust, and supporting the child's emotional and academic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child with ASD and SEMH needs.
- Assisting with learning activities inside and outside the classroom.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies tailored to the child's needs.
- Supporting emotional regulation and helping the child manage transitions.
- Encouraging engagement with learning while allowing for necessary breaks.
- Working closely with the Class Teacher and SENCO to implement support plans.
- Communicating with parents and staff to ensure consistent support.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly those with ASD and SEMH needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills and experience with de-escalation techniques.
- Previous experience in a KS1 or KS2 setting.
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
