A global manufacturer of precision components supplying sectors including aerospace, automotive and defence has a new vacancy for a Shift Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation activities within your designated area ensuring targets are achieved and continuously striving to improve efficiency. Candidates are sought with strong operational/manufacturing management skills gained within a fast-paced environment.

The Role:

Plan and organise production schedules to meet production goals and deadlines.

Actively participate in and promote continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure adherence to quality procedures and compliance within the team.

Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed.

Lead daily department shift meetings, ensuring team understand their responsibilities.

Identify areas for process improvements and implement solutions for increased efficiency.

Oversee maintenance of equipment, ensuring optimal production capacity and minimizing downtime.

Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with all Health & Safety legislation.

Ensure measures are taken to achieve cost reduction opportunities and reduce waste.

Overseeing quality compliance, scrap, and rework.

Manage labour resources effectively by ensuring cover for holidays and sickness.

The Person:

Proven experience in a supervisory or management level position in a fast-paced environment.

Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing & Methodology.

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to engage and motivate a team.

Knowledge of quality control and safety standards.

Commitment to achieving set goals, targets, and objectives.

High level of professionalism and integrity.

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
