A national FinTech is looking for a Disaster Recovery Manager, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the IT systems are robust and can swiftly recover from any disruptions, including outages, disasters, or cyber-attacks.

This business is now using multiple external service providers in a Business Process Outsourcing arrangement. The business's digital presence will expand, which means cyber defence needs to be a top priority.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Implement and Improve DR Standards: Ensure that disaster recovery standards are effectively implemented and continuously enhanced across all IT systems.
  • Collaboration with the Risk Team: Work closely with the Risk team to define and uphold the overall disaster recovery and operational resilience policies and plans.
  • Coordination with Suppliers: Facilitate collaboration among all suppliers to address disaster recovery and resilience issues
  • Annual DR Testing: Organize annual disaster recovery tests to confirm that both corporate and operational plans are current and adhere to best practices.
  • Support IT Services Team: Assist the IT Services team in delivering exemplary service to both staff and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recovery Assurance: Ensure suppliers are capable of recovering from outages, disasters, or cyber incidents.
  • Supplier Accountability: Hold suppliers accountable for daily system resilience and DR operations.
  • Assess and Oversee: Evaluate and oversee the disaster recovery solutions provided by third-party suppliers.
  • Risk Monitoring: Monitor IT disaster recovery risks and controls, and escalate any issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement improvements in collaboration with third parties and the Head of IT Services.
  • Disaster Recovery Activation: Assist in activating disaster recovery plans during major system interruptions.
  • Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance on disaster recovery 
  • Testing and Exercises: Lead recovery tests to ensure IT applications function during incidents.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all plans are documented and comply with industry standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with various teams to maintain system resilience and disaster recovery capabilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in system resilience and disaster recovery management.
  • Strong understanding of IT disaster recovery planning and operations.
  • Excellent collaboration and coordination skills to manage relationships with multiple suppliers.
  • Ability to lead, train, and guide teams in disaster recovery protocols.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess risks and implement effective solutions.
  • Willingness to travel as required by the role.
