An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for Newcastle City Council. This is a temporary Senior Practitioner role for the Children in Care and Care Leavers Team. In this role you will benefit from an hourly rate of £35.32 per hour umbrella, whilst having the opportunity to work in a professional and vibrant environment. Working within the CIC and Care Leavers Team includes but is not limited to: * Holding a caseload of Looked after Children * Undertaking Core Assessments under Section 20 of the Children's Act of 1989 * Undertaking Child Protection Enquiries under Section 47 of the Children's Act of 1989 * Producing Annex B reports * Undertaking Regulation 38 Assessments and Special Guardian Assessments * Liaising/ Working closely with partnership agencies to support the families and meet the children/ young peoples needs * Preparing & implementing Care Plans * Attending court and giving evidence when required * Obtaining Interim Care Orders/Interim Supervision Orders * Initiating and Completing Care Proceedings * Obtaining Special Guardianship Orders For this position you will need hold a recognised social work qualification and be SWE registered, as well as have sufficient post qualifying experience.
