Primary School Business Manager

Are you an experienced and highly motivated business professional with a passion for education? We are seeking a dedicated Primary School Business Manager to join our leadership team and play a key role in the strategic and operational management of our school.

About the Role

As the Business Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the school's financial management, HR, administration, and site operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all areas. Working closely with the Headteacher and Governors, you will contribute to the overall leadership and management of the school, ensuring that resources are used effectively to support the best possible educational outcomes for our pupils.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management: Budget planning, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with school financial procedures.

  • Human Resources: Managing recruitment, staff records, payroll, and contracts.

  • Administration: Overseeing office operations, data management, and compliance with statutory requirements.

  • Site & Facilities Management: Ensuring the school environment is safe, secure, and well-maintained.

  • Procurement & Contracts: Managing service providers and negotiating contracts to ensure value for money.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Essential: Previous experience working in a school or educational setting.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and financial reporting.

  • Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and support staff.

  • A high level of organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of school financial and HR systems (e.g., SIMS, FMS) is advantageous.
