Our client is on the lookout for a forward-thinking, tenacious and passionate Credit Analyst to join their Transaction Shared Service centre at their Waterside Head Office in Blackburn. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the Credit Control team and provide essential support to the finance department on their journey of continuous improvement and growth. The successful candidate will be a key asset in maximising cash collection, minimising risk and exceeding KPI's.

What you'll do:

As a Credit Analyst, your role will be pivotal in shaping the Credit Control team. You will be responsible for monitoring new customer account setups, assessing and continuously monitoring security requirements for all debtors. Your proactive approach towards collecting outstanding debts will help meet collection targets while maintaining accurate records on chasing and payment promises. You will also play a crucial role in initiating legal action against debtors across all countries. Your ability to identify high-risk accounts that require escalation will be vital in this role.

  • Monitor new customer account set up, setting and controlling credit limits
  • Assess and continuously monitor security required for all debtors
  • Maintain security logs and update in ERP systems
  • Initiate legal action against debtors for all country debtors
  • Identify high risk accounts that require escalation and liaise with Credit Manager and country teams.
  • Support delivery of Credit Management projects
  • Manage a small portfolio of accounts, ensuring outstanding debts are collected in line with company policy
  • Review and analyse aged debt against defined targets, driving continuous improvement in the number of days debts remaining overdue

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Credit Analyst position brings a wealth of experience within Credit Control along with a proven track record of delivery. Your knowledge of credit risk management coupled with your familiarity with credit control toolkits and policies will be highly advantageous. Your strong Excel and analytical skills will aid you in reviewing and analysing aged debt against defined targets. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to build strong relationships with both external customers and internal teams.

  • Experience working within Credit Control with an ability to demonstrate delivery
  • Knowledge of credit risk management
  • Familiarity with credit control toolkits and policies would be an advantage
  • Great communicator, able to adapt style of communication depending on the audience and nature of information being communicated
  • Strong excel and analytical skills
  • Experience in using accounting systems, SAP would be an advantage
  • Proactive, with excellent time management and organisational skills
