Join my clients Clinical Negligence department, where they provide expert advice to clients navigating medical negligence claims. As a Clinical Negligence Solicitor, you will collaborate with a Senior Associate on a diverse range of high-quality cases. Additionally, you will contribute to the department’s growth through marketing and networking initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Handle a caseload of clinical negligence files under supervision, ensuring effective case and transaction management.
  • Client Interaction: Engage directly with clients to take instructions and ensure their expectations are met.
  • Time Management: Consistently manage time recording, WIP monitoring, and billing to meet set targets and objectives.
  • Research & Marketing: Research and draft articles and assist in creating marketing materials.
  • Networking: Develop a network of clients, contacts, and potential referrers, and attend networking events.
  • Mentorship: Support and provide feedback to juniors and trainees, delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Process Adherence: Learn and apply all relevant business processes, adapting to new procedures as required.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform fee-earning work accurately and reliably, adhering to the firm’s quality and risk management procedures (Lexcel).

Skills & Experience

  • Qualifications: Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Expertise: Extensive experience in claimant Clinical Negligence law.
  • Autonomy: Ability to manage own files with minimal supervision.
  • Client Management: Strong skills in managing client relationships and delivering excellent service.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Independence: Self-sufficient and proactive.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with case management systems, preferably Proclaim.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of GDPR and Equality Standards.

Additional Information

  • Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
  • Location: Office-based at Head Office in Lancashire with potential for working from home a couple of days per week.
  • Salary: £60k per annum
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (1 hour for lunch)
  • Holidays: 21 days per year plus bank holidays (1 extra day per year up to a maximum of 5 extra days)
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
