Join an established law firm as a Housing Disrepair Fee Earner in their Blackburn office. This role also offers hybrid remote working options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of housing disrepair matters, including both pre-litigated and litigated files.
  • Act on behalf of tenants in disputes with landlords, ensuring their rights are protected and advocating for fair resolutions.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and correspond with clients, landlords, and other relevant parties.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on housing disrepair issues, including property inspections and assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Utilise case management systems, including Proclaim, to maintain accurate and organised case files.
  • Attend court hearings and represent clients in negotiations and settlement discussions.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of managing a caseload of housing disrepair matters.
  • Knowledge and experience of using case management systems, with experience in Proclaim being advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of tenant rights and landlord-tenant disputes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage workload.
  • Legal qualification or relevant experience in housing law or related field is desirable.
