Reed HR have partnered with an organisation based in West Sussex who are seeking and experienced HR Advisor to join their team on a 12 month fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. 

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Work closely with all parties to resolve both informal and formal employee relations matters such as absence management, disciplinary, capability/performance, and grievance cases. This involves building strong working relationships and maintaining confidentiality.

  • Oversee and respond to online HR enquiries within 24 hours, ensuring queries are escalated appropriately if necessary.

  • Assist in the recruitment process, including checking accuracy and publishing job adverts and profiles, and providing support during the interview process, including panel participation.

  • Maintain, update, and accurately record all ER casework, ensuring records are thorough and track case progress with HR colleagues and line managers for timely interventions and resolutions.

  • Actively participate in HR initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices that support the organisation's people strategy.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in HR, particularly in handling complex employee relations cases.

  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
