Field Account Manager

Field Account Manager Job Purpose:We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Account Manager (waste) to join our field team. The primary purpose of this role is to build and maintain sustainable relationships with a diverse portfolio of customers, focusing on delivering profitable growth for the company. The role encompasses managing 80% existing accounts and developing 20% new business opportunities.

Field Account Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management:
    • Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure satisfaction, retention, and growth.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for your customer portfolio, addressing any queries or concerns promptly.
    • Monitor and analyse account performance to identify opportunities for upselling and improving profitability.
  • New Business Development:
    • Proactively identify and engage with potential new clients to expand the customer base.
    • Develop tailored proposals and presentations to win new business opportunities.
  • Profitability and Growth:
    • Drive sustainable and profitable growth through effective account management and strategic customer engagement.
    • Work closely with internal teams to optimise service delivery, pricing strategies, and account performance.
  • Relationship Building:
    • Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to foster long-term partnerships.
    • Attend client meetings and site visits as necessary to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Reporting and Strategy:
    • Prepare regular reports on account performance, market trends, and business development opportunities.
    • Contribute to the development of sales and account management strategies aligned with company goals.

Field Account Manager Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport and trust with customers.
  • Proven ability to manage accounts and drive profitability.
  • Proactive and results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving targets.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of the waste management industry is advantageous but not essential.

Hours:

  • Full-time, 42.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, shifts between 7am and 5.30pm on a rota basis. Naturally, you would be on the road 4-5 days per week visiting customers and prospecting.
  • Occasional flexibility may be required to meet business needs.

Field Account Manager Salary and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary from £28 - 35,000 per annum DOE (to be discussed during the interview). Plus performance based commission circa £6,000 per annum.
