- Running a varied caseload of private family law work, including divorce, separation, financial settlements, cohabitation disputes, and children matters such as child arrangements orders and parental responsibility.
- Drafting and preparing legal documents, including applications, statements, and consent orders, with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Attending and representing clients at court hearings, undertaking advocacy as appropriate.
- Providing clear, sensitive, and practical legal advice to clients during emotionally challenging situations
- Liaising and building strong working relationships with courts, barristers, social services, and other external agencies.
- Working closely with colleagues across the department to ensure consistent and client-focused service delivery.
- Contributing to the development of the department by taking part in networking, marketing, and other business development activities as required.
- A qualified solicitor or legal executive with experience in family law, ideally with exposure to both Legal Aid and private work.
- A solid understanding of the Legal Aid framework, with experience using CCMS to manage and progress public-funded cases.
- Strong drafting, communication, and client-handling skills, with a professional and empathetic manner.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage a busy caseload independently and prioritise competing demands effectively
- A team player who is also confident working autonomously, with a proactive and collaborative attitude.
- Advocacy experience is desirable but not essential.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional client service and contributing to the ongoing success of the team.
