Job Title: Site Manager
Location: Stockport and surrounding areas
Salary: Up to 拢52,000 per annum
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join a well-established civil engineering contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple sites within the Stockport locality, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
路Organising and managing 3 to 6 sites of varying value.
路Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to coordinate works and ensure smooth project progression.
路Working closely with the Contract Manager and Business Manager to plan and programme complex contract works.
路Managing labour, plant, and materials, ensuring efficiency and progress.
路Calling off materials and assisting the commercial team with schedules for placing orders.
路Ensuring all health and safety procedures are adhered to, including preparing Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
路Maintaining a safe, tidy, and well-managed site, ensuring compliance with all company and industry standards.
路Keeping detailed site records, including daily diaries and photographic evidence.
路Managing site inductions and ensuring staff, subcontractors, and operatives understand and follow safe working practices.
路Overseeing the Permit to Dig system.
路Reporting any damage, accidents, or near misses to Head Office.
路Liaising with local authorities, the public, and businesses as required.
路Assisting the QS and Contracts Manager with financial reporting, claims, and measures.
路Attending meetings, training sessions, and management briefings as required.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
路Experience in a supervisory role within civil engineering.
路Strong people management and communication skills.
路Full UK Driving Licence.
路CSCS / NRSWA / SMSTS (or similar) qualifications.
路Experience in cost management and financial reporting.
路Ability to meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy and good record-keeping.
路Highly motivated team player with a proactive approach.
Desirable:
路Working knowledge of MS Project, Word, and Excel.
路Experience in Local Authority highway projects.
路Confined Spaces qualification.
路Ability to manage multiple smaller sites simultaneously.
路Some Quantity Surveying experience.
路IOSH certification.
