Part Time Finance Manager (30 hours per week)

  • Salary Range: £35,000 - £40,000 pro rata

We are thrilled to be partnering with a fantastic client who is looking for a dedicated Finance Manager to join their team. This role serves as the sole finance support within the organisation, reporting directly to the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will manage all financial aspects of their diverse operations, which include a Field Study Centre, wedding venue, micro-brewery/taproom, retail outlet, café, and museum.

Duties:

  • Manage financial transactions and ensure timely monthly reports.
  • Act as the lynchpin of the organisation, providing accurate reporting on time.
  • Handle supplier invoices, sales invoices, bank payments, and credit control.
  • Check weekly cash takings against the EPOS system for the Café, Museum, and Taproom.
  • Conduct banking and ensure adequate change is available for operations.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Liaise with external accountants to produce monthly management accounts.
  • Load all transactions into Sage 50 Professional.
  • Prepare documentation for the annual audit and liaise with auditors.
  • Produce monthly department reports and a Dashboard for Trustee Meetings.
  • Manage payroll information and submit to external payroll bureau.
  • Reconcile control accounts for online ticket sales, PayPal, etc.
  • Claim Gift Aid for the organisation and submit the HMRC Brewery Duty Claim monthly.
  • Support the management team with financial advice and information on pricing/budgeting.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified bookkeeper with extensive knowledge of Sage 50 Professional.
  • Thorough understanding of double-entry bookkeeping to an advanced level.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise multiple requests for information across various departments.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and the ability to create spreadsheets and reports from scratch.
