A reputable charity based in the Hertfordshire area are keen to secure a Complex Needs Support Worker specialising in Mental Health and substance abuse on a temporary to permanent basis.

Location: BorehamwoodDuration: Temporary to permanentHours: Full time, 37 hours per weekShifts: 8am – 4pm, 10am – 6pm and 12:15pm – 8:15pm Monday to Friday with one Saturday 8am – 4pm shift a month

Main duties:• Provide day to day support to a caseload of residents with complex and coexisting needs, ensuring they are appropriately assessed and supported • Working collaboratively with external agencies such a specialist substance misuse services and Adult Mental Health Services • Creating in depth and clear support plans tailored to each client to ensure residents have a clear path to progress• Assisting clients to move on into independent living and accommodation• Carrying out risk assessments to ensure the health and safety of residents and staff• Providing advocacy and mediation on behalf of the resident where appropriate• Enabling clients to develop confidence, assertiveness and improved communication skills• Promoting independence at all times and teaching basic living skills• Keeping accurate notes and records • Monitor and control rent accounts working proactively to reduce arrears

Essential requirements:• Have an understanding of complex needs and therapeutic approaches to support the residents • An enhanced DBS with the adults list checked or willingness to obtain• Driver is preferable but not essential
