Science Technician - Bournemouth - up to £23,893 + Benefits

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Technician to join a well-established client in a school setting. The successful candidate will provide crucial support to the Science Department by preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons, maintaining laboratory facilities, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

What you'll be doing:

The purpose of this role is to provide specialist technical support to teaching staff and ensure proper use of resources and equipment. You will take lead in the design, development & maintenance of specialised equipment whilst demonstrating safe use of all resources within a classroom environment. With Science being a key curriculum, our client offers 3 separate science curriculums where you will primarily be working within your own disciplined area however, some assistance will be required within biology or chemistry lessons too.

What we're looking for:

  • Advanced, vocational or academic qualification in the relevant subject area or substantial experience in practical work with evidence of training/development
  • Ability to resolve problems surrounding equipment
  • Ensure key relationships are established
  • Ability to make quick decisions and intervene when safety is at risk
  • Strong IT skills for presentation & analysis
  • Experience using a wide range of equipment & resources

Hours & Benefits:

  • 37 hours Monday to Friday
