An excellent new opportunity has arisen as Personal Injury Claims Handler which is to work with a one the UK’s leading law firms.
Working from their Bradford operation, which is ideally situated near the train station, you will be working with an experience team of Claims Technicians. Ideally you will have worked within a claim’s environment (circa minimum 6 months), where you will defend E.L & P.L Claims.
This role would ideally suit a law graduate with an interest in Personal Injury or an existing Claims Handler, ideally with experience in defendant PI or RTA, looking for their next position. Excellent communication, strong IT skills, and the ability to work methodologically and process driven are a must, along with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. This is a hands-on fee earning role and training will be given.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the advice and guidance of your supervisor, the main duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct defence of EL/PL claims for Personal Injury from the beginning of the claim up to but not including litigation - preferably with a retail focus.
- Ability to use the MOJ EL/PL Portal.
- Deal with opponents, experts, statutory bodies and client by e-mail, telephone and in writing.
- Negotiate on issues of liability and quantum.
- Pursue recovery of client’s losses, where appropriate, from third parties
- Maintain accurate financial / reserve / risk management information on all claims
- Comply with internal, client and procedural protocols
- Ensure that personal objectives are reviewed and met.
- Develop a good relationship with existing and potential clients ensuring that a high standard of client care in exercised at all times.
- Provide good customer service to litigants in person.
- Ensure that relevant training is carried out and keep up to date with relevant legislation and practice.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with SRA/Law Society Regulations.
This is a newly created division within Bradford where there a huge scope to develop within as the team grows and therefore the opportunity for career progression.
Basic salary is dependent on experience and up to £27K, plus excellent benefits including pension, private medical insurance, life insurance.
