We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join an expanding Manufacturing Engineering client based in Bradford  

This position has been created due to an increased work load and the client is looking to grow its current team - this is a great opportunity for someone looking for their next step in purchasing.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a Purchasing role within an engineering / manufacturing environment with experience in taking ownership of their of portfolio of products. The company are manufacture to order, not high volume so the ability to run multiple projects at once is a must. You will need to ensure that all purchase orders are placed to ensure materials arrive in a timely manner to meet demand.

Hours 0830 – 1700 Monday to Thursday, 0830 – 1630 on Fridays – Opportunity for 1 day Hybrid after probation period

Role Description

  • Convert requisitions to purchase orders and issue to the supply base in a timely manner.
  • Manage and highlight or escalate any issues of part delivery through the most appropriate channels (internal / external) whilst ensuring the purchase manager is kept updated.
  • Create, develop and maintain excellent working relationships with supply base and internal stakeholders.
  • Work with the supply base to better the current position through purchase general tactics.
  • Understand the internal stakeholders / customers’ needs and wants to aim to meet and exceed their expectations

Skills & Attributes

  • Demonstrable experience within a Purchasing role within an engineering/ manufacturing environment.
  • Ideally CIPS qualified (Level 4 desirable)
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage work pressure.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook literate.
  • Excellent communication skills.
