Materials Buyer

This is a supplier facing Buyer role in the Manufacturing industry, with great opportunity to engage across an international supply base to deliver value through ensuring optimal supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The position requires a deep understanding of procurement and supply chain dynamics within a Manufacturing sector.

Our client in the Manufacturing industry are a leading in the production of high quality products for a range of prestige clients, known for its commitment to quality and sustainability. With operations globally, it has a robust supply chain system in place to manage the increasing demand for its product, due to restructuring an opportunity has now emerged for a Buyer with strong supplier management and contract negotiation skills to join the team reporting directly to the Senior Management Team.

Description

• Procure materials in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations.
• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.
• Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules.
• Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
• Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures.
• Conduct research for new components and suppliers.
• Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.

Profile

A successful Buyer should have:

Well established knowledge of procurement and supply chain management practices.

• Familiarity with Manufacturing Industry and its unique requirements.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to forge relationships with suppliers.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong stakeholder management skills
