Randstad is currently looking for a Finance Officer to provide financial support for all grant funded projects and associated core budgets within the Central Grants Team. Working under the management of the Team Leader - Central Grants (Finance) you will provide support and assistance to the funding alignment programmes, multi-agency teams and contribute to the development and implementation of effective financial management systems.

Role: Finance Officer

Pay rate: £15.84 per hour

Hours: Monday-Friday, 37 hours per week. 3 days working from home and 2 days in the office which are currently Wednesday and Thursday.

Location: Civic Offices in Bridgend-angel street, bridgend CF314WB

Contract: Temp until 31st of March with potential of extension

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor spend against budget for various programmes, ensuring compliance with funding terms and guidelines.
  • Regularly update the Team Leader and Deputy Manager on financial positions and advise on reallocating any under-spend.
  • Prepare grant claims for submission to funding bodies, ensuring eligibility, audit trails, and adherence to financial procedures and deadlines.
  • Monitor financial activity of Early Intervention and Prevention services and external agencies, ensuring compliance and addressing non-compliance.
  • Support financial delivery plans for all programmes and prepare submissions to relevant bodies for approval.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate competence through experience; or possess a relevant qualification such as AAT.
  • Financial competency and experience in developing budget management systems for audit/monitoring and control.
  • Knowledge and experience of using computerised financial packages including Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience of working within a finance environment.
