Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Domestic Abuse Referrals and Services Manager based in the Black Country.
The purpose of this challenging role is to support and manage victims of violence and abuse, through excellent interpersonal skills. This is a challenging role that requires attention to detail, on systems and processes associated with themanagement and support of victims. The ideal candidate needs to focus on and commit to exploring the experience of the victims.
This is a full time 37.5 hours (Mon - Fri), permanent role, offering a salary between £34,946 - £39,863
per annuum based on experience. Travel will be required.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To be responsible for line management of the referral and advice team; including the following positions: Single Point of Contact (SPOC), Duty Support workers, Administrators and volunteers. Involve and encourage client feedback and consultation in all aspects of the service.
- To be responsible for ensuring that all referrals into the Domestic abuse support services are received, details inputted and responded to within a timely manner. This may be via email, phone calls, online referrals, multiagency safeguarding hubs (MASH), multiagency risk assessment conference (MARAC), agencies and any other route into BCWA
- To develop, maintain and represent positive, collaborative working relationships with external professionals and all staff, being committed as part of the team to providing a high level of support to victims and survivors.
- To be responsible for ensuring the team provide initial contact, help and advice where appropriate but assess risk to the victim where risk has not been identified.
- To manage performance of the service: ensuring that records are accurately inputted and regular reports received to analysis trends and patterns (e.g. individual performance, volume, support needs etc.). Using this information report into BCWA management and reporting structures
- To create opportunities to collect / receive the client experience in line with the Lived Experience Policy. Evaluating and reviewing peer / service user feedback, and suggesting creative ways of continually enhancing and improving the service.
- To ensure that the client areas are always trauma informed, safe, have relevant information displayed and are prepared and maintained to receive victims / survivors.
- Involvement in ensuring that systems and processes in use at the centre are fit for purpose and in line with data protection regulations etc.
- To ensure that professional boundaries are always maintained when working with service users, colleagues, trustees and other agencies
- Undertake regular audits/case reviews with staff to ensure standards and expectations are being met, discuss new approaches and unblock issues hindering action/ activity to help victims be/ feel safe.
- To hold regular team meetings, and undertake regular supervision and appraisals as well as support the CEO to drive forward and implement the directorate strategy and key priorities.
- To be fully compliant and remain up to date with BCWA’s policies and procedures, local and regional operational protocols and national legislation.
- To work within the organization’s quality assurance framework and ensure we provide a quality service to victims of abuse.
- To represent the organization positively contributing to local, regional and national strategy and event.
Person Specification
- Managerial or supervisory experience
- Experience addressing employment matters/HR issues including employee wellbeing
- Experience of developing and delivering training.
- Experience of formal written work e.g. reports, evaluation, analysis
- Experience of presenting information in front of an audience/partners/staff
- Experiencing of working within a busy office environment with competing demands and being able to prioritise and organize workloads
- Experience of safeguarding risks and reporting, relevant legislative frameworks and standards and knowing how to apply them
- Experience of managing complex casework, including issues such as child abuse, mental health, substance abuse, working with trauma in adults and children and crisis intervention
- Qualification or training equivalent to minimum level 3 education standard in a relevant topic, such as health and social care/ Independent domestic abuse advocate
