Senior Contracts Solicitor

Local Authority - West Midlands

£400-450 per day - Negotiable DOE

Contract Length - 3-6 months with a view to being extended.

Remote Working

We are working with a local authority based in the West Midlands who are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Solicitor to join their team.

The successful candidate will be expected to carry a mixed caseload of contracts and procurement work, which includes but is not limited to:

  • providing complex legal and procurement advice to clients on various matters relating to all Directorates of the Council.
  • reviewing, drafting and advising on a variety of complex agreements including frameworks, services contracts, ICT contracts, social care contracts, collaboration agreements, section 75 agreements and various central and local government grant funding arrangements.
  • undertaking the role of lead legal advisor on large complex projects and coordinating advice and roles and responsibilities across the project team.
  • advising on Council Constitution, Procurement Regulations, governance and decision making.

In order to be considered for this role, you should be:

  • Qualified legal professional (Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent)
  • Experienced in contract and procurement law within a local authority.
  • Able to communicate effectively with members, senior officers and clients.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail will also be important.
