We are a family owned, independent manufacturer of construction materials, looking to appoint an enthusiastic and organised Assistant/ Trainee Accountant to our team.

This varied role will offer you hands-on experience across all areas of the finance function, with training provided to support your growth. For those interested in formal qualifications, we offer study support for ACCA or CIMA, helping you advance as your skills and knowledge develop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for credit control, ensuring that sales invoices are processed in a timely manner and subsequently paid. 
  • Perform bank and other month end reconciliations and prepare reports used in the month end process.
  • Support with rebate calculations, sales analysis and ad hoc analysis.
  • Build relationships both internally and with key customers.
  • Provide all-round outstanding service within the accountancy team and supporting all the general head office functions.

The Person

  • Educated to at least A-level or equivalent.  (Degree qualified applicants could commence studying the ACCA qualification without first completing the AAT qualification)
  • Excel skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently with an eye for detail.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic individual.
  • Effective time management to ensure deadlines are met.
  • To work well as part of a team, whilst taking responsibility for own tasks.
  • Applicants qualified by experience will also be considered, and there is no obligation for a candidate with experience to complete further qualifications.
