Certain Advantage is hiring for a Civil Engineer in Somerset.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Field Civil Engineer to join a dynamic team overseeing construction activities. You will play a key role in ensuring quality standards, monitoring site activities, and coordinating with project teams to maintain compliance with contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities include:
* Overseeing construction works to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
* Identifying and reporting non-conformance issues and assisting in resolution.
* Communicating effectively with site teams and reporting on project progress.
* Contributing surveillance data to support performance indicators.
* Identify potential quality concerns and implement preventative measures.
* Ensuring temporary measures are in place to maintain safety and quality standards.
* Supporting formal decision-making processes for design changes.
* Reviewing contractor performance against agreed quality control plans.
* Monitoring and ensuring accurate Quality Inspection Records before work is covered.

The Individual
We're looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
* Strong technical expertise in civil construction techniques.
* Experience working on major infrastructure projects.
* Knowledge of contract management (NEC ECC, FIDIC).
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Experience maintaining detailed site records.
