Our client in the education sector is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Manager with superb leadership skills to join their large team on a long term FTC basis until September 2026.
As Senior Payroll Manager, you will report into the Director of HR and oversee a team of ten in total, with support of 2 payroll supervisors.
Responsibilities include:
- Day to day management of the payroll team ensuring accurate and timely processing of 2x inhouse payrolls on a monthly basis
- Identify, recommend and implement measures of continuous improvement
- Be the University's payroll Subject Matter Expert in the operation of the payroll service
- Carry out accurate and timely reporting to HMRC specifically the statutory mont Accountability of the outsourced Payroll
- Responsible for Payroll systems improvements and changes (in the current HR system)
- Training and development of the Payroll Manager and Supervisors,
- Responsible for user acceptance testing of bespoke and larger-scope system releases and upgrades
Experience required:
- Excellent people management & leadership skills
- Experience of managing, motivating and developing staff
- Exemplary UK payroll knowledge
- Sound knowledge of occupational sickness, maternity and paternity schemes and their application.
- Resourcelink experience is desirable
