Job Title: Waste Recycling Manager (temp)Location: BrightonEmployment Type: 09:00 - 18:00Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the day-to-day operations of waste and recycling services, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.- Lead and manage site teams to deliver high performance, ensuring targets for recycling, diversion from landfill, and service quality are met or exceeded.- Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental procedures in accordance with company policy and legal requirements (e.g., HSE, EA).- Develop and maintain risk assessments, method statements, and site operating procedures.- Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all permits, licenses, and reporting requirements are maintained and up to date.- Manage budgets, resources, and procurement of equipment or services as required.- Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to staff, promoting a safety-first culture.- Ensure all plant, machinery, and vehicles are maintained in safe working order and downtime is minimised.Requirements:- Proven experience in a senior role within the waste management or recycling sector is ideal.- Strong understanding of waste legislation, environmental compliance, and health & safety regulations.- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational management systems.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Full UK driving licence (or equivalent) required.
