They are seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant (Purchase Ledger) to join their finance team and play a vital role in supporting their accounting functions and operations across their branches.
As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll manage essential purchase ledger tasks, oversee subcontractor compliance, and assist with various finance duties. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in finance who enjoys working in a dynamic environment.
Day to Day:
- Processing and accurately record supplier invoices matching with purchase orders and delivery notes including subcontractor invoices, ensuring CIS compliance.
- Reconcile supplier statements and address discrepancies.
- Preparing and process payments (BACS and card) weekly/monthly.
- Apply accurate CIS deductions and prepare monthly CIS returns.
- Manage subcontractor queries related to payments and deductions.
- Supporting monthly management account preparations.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and filings.
- Contribute to year-end financial processes and general finance administration.
You Will Be:
- Experienced in a similar finance role.
- Familiar with purchase ledger processes, CIS, and accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, and Excel, ideally familiar with Sage 200.
- An organised individual with high levels of attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- AAT qualification or progression toward it is a plus.
