An exciting opportunity for a passionate Network professional to join a unique, multi-national Information Management function. Ideal candidates should be committed to leading a team of professionals within the UC space, directing them on best practice for maintenance, support and related activities.

Job Title: Unified Communications Specialist

Salary: Up to £70,000 pa depending on experience.

Location: Stevenage, Bolton, Bristol.

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site depending on business need (i.e. we may require more than two days onsite during some working weeks).

Nationality: : British Citizen

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

Join our forward thinking team as a Unified Communications Specialist, where you will play a key role in our Telephony and Video Conferencing setup, strategy and management.

You will be responsible for maintaining the Unified Communications infrastructure and ensure availability to users.  Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will work on implementing changes securely, identifying vulnerabilities, managing incidents and ensuring compliance with industry best practices. 

This is a dynamic opportunity to contribute to Unified Communications, solving complex challenges and have a direct impact on the overall resilience of our IT environment. If you are passionate about IP Telephony, Video conferencing and Instant Messaging, this role is the perfect fit.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, VLANS).
  • Strong expertise in IP Telephony and Video Conference solutions (including fixed line telephony, soft phones and VC appliances.
  • Self-motivated and ambitious with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Team player, helping and supporting the wider Information Management team.
  • Good understanding of security protocols such as IPSec, SSL / TLS, VPNs and two factor authentication.
  • Understanding of network architectures and security zones (DMZ, internal networks)
  • Proficient in monitoring technologies PRTG, Nagios
