We are working with a leading international Law Firm who are looking for an experienced credit controller to join their busy and growing finance department. This person will be responsible for providing support to two offices in order to assist the practice groups in managing their working capital efficiently, reducing the level of debtors. The role involves extensive collaboration with key stakeholders across the business. You will work closely with the Credit Manager and contribute to the strategic direction of the credit control & wider Finance team. This role will be heavily focused on the firm's Insurance practice which is one of their largest practice groups.

The Role:As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the firm’s credit control processes to ensure timely payments from clients.
  • Monitoring and reconciling client accounts, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
  • Liaising with clients and internal teams to address outstanding invoices and payment queries.
  • Preparing regular reports on debtors and credit control performance.
  • Implementing and maintaining effective credit control policies and procedures.
  • Supporting the finance team with ad hoc administrative tasks as required.

About You:We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in credit control, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Is highly organised and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of financial processes and accounting software (e.g., Excel, Sage, or similar systems).
  • Is proactive, approachable, and a team player.
