A Primary School in the BS34 area of South Gloucestershire is currently looking for a Teaching Assistant who can work on a 1 to 1 basis with a pupil in a KS1 class who has ASD needs.

The Role

This position is to start as soon as possible on a fixed term contract until July 2025. You will be expected to work Monday to Friday, Term Time only.

The Head Teacher is looking for a flexible candidate, someone who can cope in high-pressure environments and can adapt to working with 2 pupils with two different needs.

You will be expected to:

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to develop activities.

  • Be a resourceful candidate, who can adapt activities to meet the needs of individuals.

  • Work 1:1 with children in a 1:1 environment, supporting interventions and core learning.

  • Support assessment and evidencing learning.

  • Maintain a safe and positive learning environment.

  • Challenge the pupils to achieve their best potential.
