Your new schoolYour new Head Teacher based within a South Gloucestershire primary is now searching for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team until the end of the academic year with the potential of continuing until the end of the academic year for the right candidate. This inclusive school has an excellent SEND team with proven success of providing support to all students with specific educational needs.

Your new roleAs an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be working with a year 1 student on a 1:1 basis with Autism. You will continue the use of effective communication methods, including visual aids devised by the previous Teaching Assistant that have enabled successful engagement within lessons. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting the child through learning, with social development and encouraging positive behaviour.

What you'll need to succeed

  • You must have recent relevant experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a school.
  • You will be passionate about working with young people and supporting them in their development and engagement within a school setting with the ability to develop positive relationships.
  • It is desirable to hold NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications.
