About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineering Consultant with a strong background in complex systems engineering, consulting, and project delivery across multiple industries. In this role, you will work directly with clients to provide expert guidance, lead multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle. This includes requirements management, system design and architecture, integration, testing, and validation. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to problem-solving, a client-centric mindset, and the technical expertise to ensure the successful delivery of high-impact engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Consultancy:


- Serve as a technical advisor, understanding client needs, and translating them into engineering requirements and solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing clear and concise technical recommendations and guidance.
- Facilitate workshops and technical discussions with clients to address system requirements and design issues.

Systems Engineering & Project Delivery:


- Lead systems engineering efforts across the full project lifecycle, from requirements definition to final system validation and deployment.
- Conduct system architecture design, integration, and testing, ensuring solutions are robust, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices.
- Oversee configuration management, traceability, and compliance, working within frameworks like MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) and Agile methodologies.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:


- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
- Support project management activities, including resource planning, risk management, and milestone tracking.
- Ensure that team outputs meet high standards of technical quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Technical Expertise & Continuous Improvement:


- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and systems engineering advancements.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance project outcomes and efficiency.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices within the organization.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Educational Background:
- Degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications (such as INCOSE, CSEP, or ISTQB) are a plus.

Technical Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering, including consulting or project-based work.
- Demonstrated proficiency in requirements management, systems architecture, and the use of engineering tools such as DOORS, Enterprise Architect, and JIRA.
- Extensive experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques and Agile methodologies.


Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide strategic, actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building positive relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changing client needs and project requirements.

Additional Requirements

- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
