6-Month FTC Opportunity: Financial Accounting Manager

Location: Central Bristol | Contract: Full-Time, 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 | Hybrid Working: 2 days per week in the office

Core3 is delighted to be partnering with a leading, rapidly growing company to recruit a Financial Accounting Manager on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in a high-growth, PE-backed business, contributing to financial accuracy, compliance, and strategic initiatives within an ambitious finance team.

As the Financial Accounting Manager, you will oversee critical financial functions, ensuring precision and compliance while supporting the business's operational and strategic objectives. This position offers the flexibility of hybrid working, with 2 days per week in the Central Bristol office to foster collaboration and team engagement.

Role Responsibilities

Financial Oversight and Reporting

  • Accurately account for, report, and consolidate results for all entities within the organization, aligning with IFRS and group standards.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated accounts, performing variance analysis and providing insightful commentary to support month-end reporting.
  • Lead tax accounting processes, including reconciliations and compliance with reporting obligations.

Audit, Compliance, and Tax

  • Manage the relationship with external auditors, ensuring smooth and compliant audit processes.
  • Oversee tax responsibilities, including all excise duties, and serve as the first point of contact for HMRC-related matters.
  • Update and maintain the organization's tax strategy, coordinating with external advisors as needed.

Process Improvement and Strategic Support

  • Drive working capital optimization and oversee weekly cash flow forecasting.
  • Lead digitalization initiatives within the finance function to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed and discrepancies are resolved in collaboration with the finance team.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams, including the Executive team, Depot Managers, and the Marketing Department, to support financial decision-making.
  • Manage and coach a team of Financial Accountants and Analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Act as an authorized signatory for Accounts Payable BACS payments and oversee authorisations within Banking partners.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Qualifications: ACA-qualified accountant with experience in financial accounting and tax management in a multi-entity organization.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of IFRS financial reporting, tax compliance, and risk management.
  • Behavioral Competencies: Effective communicator with leadership skills and a collaborative, proactive approach to financial process improvements.
  • Driving Licence: A full, clean driving licence is required.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Accurate and timely delivery of core month-end reports in line with group requirements.
  • Successful annual audit completion with no material adjustments.
  • Compliance with HMRC filing deadlines for all tax reports.
  • Consistent weekly delivery of cash flow and working capital forecasts.
