Job Description

Five Education is looking for a Teacher who can deliver to a small class of secondary-age children who have been diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Other children at the school have Speech and Language difficulties and behaviour challenges. Some of the children also have additional needs with their communication and sensory abilities.

The successful candidate will have classroom teaching experience and a developed understanding of Autism-friendly teaching methods. You will be eager to develop your pedagogy by learning more about ASD. Teaching materials and resources are provided. However the school encourage individuality, therefore you are welcome to adapt learning materials to make your lessons outstanding.

The person chosen for this role may have previously been a primary/ secondary / FE teacher. They will benefit from training and support whilst working with Five Education. The school has a supportive staff cohort and good facilities. There is a strong ethos of fostering ambition and achievement within every person in the school.

The successful candidate will benefit from a pay rate dependent on experience. If you are compassionate, and patient and have a proven track record of motivating children young people through their studies then we want to hear from you.

Essential criteria:
• Previous classroom teaching experience
• Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa).
• At least two recent child-based reference and relevant DBS/ Police checks.
• Experience of teaching/ supporting individuals with SEN/Autism/Complex Needs/SEMH. (Desirable)

The day is 7 hours with an unpaid lunch break.
