Based in Bristol, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and good humoured bid specialist with a positive outlook to join the highly regarded bids and tenders team of a leading law firm.

You will be working for a progressive and forward-thinking legal firm with an open, collaborative and supportive working culture. The Bids Manager’s hard work will be valued, their ideas recognised and they will be empowered to develop and progress in their career. You will work as part of a bids team with a strong track record of retaining and winning new business in support of the delivery of the firm’s ambitious growth strategy. Using an efficient and structured process, the team collaborates with the partners and sector teams in developing compelling, benefits-led and tailored bids. Reporting to the Head of Bids, you will manage private and public sector bids from across the firm’s core seven sectors of Digital, Financial Services, Future Energy, Leisure, Food & Drink, Government & Public Services, Real Estate and Retail & Consumer Goods. The firm are appointed to some of the most prestigious public and private sector legal panels, advising many household names across their national footprint. You will be expected to develop a deep knowledge of the firm's offering and you will produce tender analysis informing management information and reporting. You will project manage tenders from opportunity assessment stage through to drafting, submission and post submission feedback and reporting. The successful applicant will scope bid requirements, manage the bid "go/no-go" process, identify key stakeholders and map out how to achieve maximum marks against evaluation criteria. Working with the lead partner and subject matter experts to develop a winning strategy and clearly identifying the firm’s value proposition, and will be tasked with the preparation of a bid plan and delivery programme and will be expected to implement a structured best practice end-to-end process. You will also be responsible for preparing teams for presentations and pitches to clients and writing compelling copy for proposals. In addition, the role holder must ensure the continuous development of systems and processes to assist tender production and work with the firm’s pricing team to develop pricing strategy.

With excellent organisational and project management skills, the ideal candidate will have proven experience working in a similar role within a professional services environment, ideally legal. The Bids Manager will have the ability to work to multiple deadlines and be confident interacting, working and communicating efficiently with a wide range of colleagues both verbally and in writing. You will also possess excellent spelling and grammar, good attention to detail and strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks. An understanding of the regulatory environment will also be advantageous.
