Your new companyWe are recruiting for a well-known organisation who specialises in the rehabilitation of people who do not have suitable accommodation for the term of their licence or bail order. Their services cover a range of vulnerable people including the homeless, young people, prison leavers and vulnerable women.
Your new roleWe are seeking an experienced housing officer to join their Housing Support team based in the Bristol area. You will be covering all of this area, with the chance of covering local areas depending on business needs. Because of this, you will need to have a Full UK Driving licence with business insurance.Your main duties as a Housing Support Worker are to help service users with applying for Housing Benefits and assist them with paying rent by creating support plans.All of their properties require to meet the Decent Homes Standard, this requires that all properties and supported living areas are clean, tidy and all repairs need to be reported and actioned, you will support these service users 1 on 1.Please note that this role is NOT a personal care role. You will be providing housing support to the service users and will monitor repairs and the cleanliness of the property.Working hours are 8 hours per day, shift patterns and flexibility will be discussed during the interview.What you'll need to succeedDue to the nature of this role, in order to succeed you will need a background within social housing and knowledge regarding benefits/universal credit.You will need to be able to demonstrate resilience, emotional intelligence, teamwork and prioritisation skills and have experience dealing with vulnerable people and drug misuse. This role requires a strong level of administration skills and the ability to manage your own casework effectively.This role requires drivers who have access to their own vehicle with business insurance. You must be highly flexible with your working day and be able to manage your day effectively. No two days are the same, so you must manage your case loads effectively to complete the necessary visits and tasks in your day-to-day.You will also need to be able to pass an Enhanced Adults DBS Check. If you already have this level of DBS on the update service please let us know upon registration.What you'll get in returnThis role is a long-term temporary position with the opportunity to be made permanent in the future.
