Your new companyAt Hays Education, we work closely with our extensive network of schools to fill exciting and challenging teaching assistant roles in Burnley and surrounding areas in East Lancashire. We are seeking a motivated and determined individual to join the provision team of an SEN school in Burnley, providing excellent support and care for students primarily with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).Your new role

  • Fostering a safe and supportive learning environment for students with a range of additional needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each student's development
  • Implementing positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN and providing support to those with SEMH
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
  • A proactive and caring attitude
