We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join our team in a mainstream school setting, specifically within the SEND Unit in Burnley. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that cater to the needs of students with various learning disabilities within the SEND unit.
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Assess students' abilities, monitor their progress, and adapt lessons to meet their individual needs.
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and specialists to develop individualised education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Implement behavioural management techniques to foster a positive learning environment.
- Utilise specialised instructional strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a SEND Teacher or similar role.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with special educational needs.
- Ability to create and adapt learning materials to suit individual needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, creativity, and dedication to student development.
- Relevant teaching qualification and SEN certification.
