Job role: Before and After School Club Practitioner

Location: Branston Locks Primary School, Burton-on-Trent

Hours: Mornings (7.15am – 8.45am) Monday to Friday

               Afternoons (2.45pm – 6pm) Monday to Friday

Rate of Pay: £12.82 per hour

Branston Locks Primary School, a brand new primary school opening their doors for the first time this academic year, are working exclusively with The Supply Register to support them with recruiting a Before and After School Club Practitioner who can support and enhance their wrap around provision, caring for their children before and after the school day.

This role is to start as soon as possible on a temporary ongoing basis. There may be an opportunity for the role to go permanent for the right candidate.

Some of the responsibilities will include:  

  • Help plan a range of suitable activities for children with an age range of 3 -11 throughout the year.
  • Treating all children as individuals and to have a secure knowledge and understanding of their needs while they are within our care.
  • Motivating and encouraging the children to participate in activities.
  • Ensure a clean, tidy environment conducive to fostering good Health and Safety practice.
  • Assist senior staff in maintaining statutory and non-statutory policies and procedures required for the efficient running of the provision
  • To help prepare nutritional snacks for children.
  • Ensuring the welfare and safety of children within our care.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons you are responsible for or come into contact with.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.

Requirements  

  • GCSE English and Maths (A* – C) or Adult Literacy & Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent  
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in working with children or young people  
  • Previous experience working in a similar role

Desirable  

  • Other equivalent qualification relevant to children and young people  
  • Previous experience providing wrap-around care within a primary provision
