Join Bury Council's Corporate Core team as a Business Support Administrator, where you will play a crucial role in supporting their People and Inclusion division. 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Monitor service generic email inboxes and manage requests by distributing, allocating, or processing them as necessary.
  • Maintain and update operational and administrative filing systems.
  • Act as the first point of contact, delivering exceptional customer care via telephone for public members, professionals, and staff from other agencies.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely distribution, filing, and responses.
  • Update and extract information from management information systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to staff, aiding in the organisation and daily operations of the service.
  • Create and format documents, presentations, and spreadsheets to a high standard.
  • Compile and maintain mailing lists and manage stationery supplies for departments.
  • Resolve queries using initiative and established procedures, escalating issues appropriately.
  • Attend meetings, take informal actions, and distribute meeting materials.
  • Provide support for corporate priorities and initiatives, including handling complaints, enquiries, and regulatory requests.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably within a corporate or public sector environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise work effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in customer service.
  • Competence in using computer packages, management information systems, and office machinery.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across departments to support various council functions.
  • Experience in handling sensitive information and understanding of data protection regulations.
