Bury Council is seeking a proactive Digital Inclusion Ambassador to join our team. This role is central to supporting and promoting digital inclusion across the borough, helping residents embrace and effectively use digital technology. Day-to-day of the role:- Work with the Digital Inclusion Group to support digital inclusion activities across the borough.
- Represent Bury Council at various events and workshops to promote the digital agenda.
- Respond to digital inclusion enquiries and signpost residents to appropriate digital support services and online resources.
- Support the delivery, uptake, and evaluation of digital projects and programmes.
- Assist in the marketing and communication efforts related to digital inclusion, including managing social media content and press releases.
- Engage with digitally excluded groups, providing basic advice, support, and making onward referrals as needed.
- Offer basic IT support during community digital activities, including setting up and troubleshooting equipment and software issues.
- Support the management and promotion of the Council’s device loan scheme.
- Develop and maintain partnerships to expand the network of digital champions in the borough.
- Experience in community engagement or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of digital platforms and tools.
- Ability to provide basic IT support and troubleshoot common hardware and software issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work flexibly, including outside normal working hours as needed.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of managing data entry and clerical tasks.
- A positive and proactive approach to promoting digital inclusion.
