The Role:We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join the dedicated team. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching food technology, nutrition, and practical cooking skills, inspiring students to develop both their creative and practical abilities. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a thriving department and contribute to the overall success of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective Food Technology lessons that inspire students and align with the curriculum.
  • Teach students essential skills in food preparation, nutrition, and safety.
  • Prepare students for assessments and exams, providing guidance and support to help them excel.
  • Maintain a safe, well-organised, and productive classroom environment.
  • Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Food Technology department and share best practices.
  • Ensure all students feel supported and are encouraged to reach their full potential.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Food Technology, Home Economics, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Food Technology at KS3/KS.
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • A passion for teaching and a creative approach to engaging students in Food Technology.
