Salary: £85,000 + Car Allowance + Annual Bonus

Reed are proud to be working with a UK leader in the electrical compliance and testing service industry. Current revenue for the business within this department is c£30m.
Due to continue growth in their office portfolio, we’re seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial Sales Director to lead the growth plans for their dynamic sales department.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role offers the opportunity to work alongside the Managing Director and the wider SLT, to drive growth and profitability across the organisation.
Due to the niche industry, we are looking for candidates who are directly within (or have confident transferrable knowledge) of the inspection, certification, or testing world, either within electrical maintenance services, fire & security, mechanical maintenance, PAT, etc.
Our client is also open to candidates who are looking for a step up into a dedicated Sales Director role, as long as you have had exposure to the below strategical duties.
Duties
- Develop and implement the sales strategy and annual sales plans for key sectors, aligning with the business's overall strategy.
- Lead, manage, motivate, and develop the sales team to drive performance and profitable growth using appropriate metrics, KPIs, training, and performance regimes.
- Own the Sales Pipeline, driving growth through existing contracts and securing significant new contracts.
- Lead large bids personally and ensure effective sales support functions are in place, including bid management, telesales, customer services, and sales administration.
- Ensure optimal client retention through excellent account management practices and first-class customer service, resolving issues promptly.
- Manage forecasting, pricing, and contracts to maximise profitability and compliance.
- Set sales targets and incentive schemes that align with driving profitable sales growth.
- Lead customer satisfaction activities, aiming to improve levels through measures such as Net Promoter Score (NPS).
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to create and implement effective product marketing and marketing communications strategies.
- Develop a deep understanding of the market and competitors, creating strategies to outperform competitors.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven track record of setting and delivering a successful sales strategy and plan.
- Significant experience in a senior sales leadership role within the business services market.
- Demonstrated ability to drive profitable sales growth and manage commercial strategies effectively.
- Experience leading sales teams and driving performance using KPIs.
- Strong negotiating and commercial skills, with experience in pricing business opportunities and developing bids.
- Excellent client relationship development skills at a senior level, with a history of managing sales and customer relations effectively.
- Highly numerate and literate, adept at using both data and intuitive insights to make decisions.
