IT Officer

Assist the IT Manager in implementing the IT policy and strategy, managing IT and communication hardware and software, and maintaining the cloud-based environment. Implement IT solutions and ensure that staff across the Trust have the training and support necessary to make full use of the Trust's IT. Manage small to medium-sized projects to completion. You will ensure that IT support requests are effectively managed and responded to in a timely manner, either by completing requests yourself or by escalating them to the IT Manager as necessary.

The IT Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the IT Manager in his role of providing strategic and operational level support to The Trust. The main objectives are the implementation and maintenance of IT improvements such as Microsoft Sharepoint, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Azure, hybrid meeting facilities, IoT and desk-booking systems etc.

Key IT Officer Responsibilities will include:

  • Administering and documenting data and network security for the Trust, including Cloud environment, and driving the implementation of cyber security measures.
  • Administering the Azure Active Directory and cloud services and maintaining the system operations.
  • Assist with the smooth running of the Trust’s IT systems and provide technical support and training for end-users.

The appointed officer will have good communications skills to provide excellent customer service to our staff and have the ability to prioritise the helpdesk tickets that are logged. The ability to setup new PC’S and other hardware ready for staff to use is an essential part of the role.

This role will be required to deputise for the IT Manager on occasions and will be expected to work independently to plan and develop solutions to problems.
