In this role, you will be directly responsible for all financial and statutory reporting and will work closely with the Head of Finance and Management Accountant in a collaborative, supportive environment. This position offers the opportunity for growth and development, especially for a qualified accountant eager to make their first step into industry or expand their experience in a fast-paced and rewarding setting.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and management of all financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Management Accountant to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure that all financial operations align with the institution's broader strategic goals.
  • Support the monthly and annual statutory audit processes, liaising with external auditors as required.
  • Provide financial insights and support to senior leadership and department heads.

Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably within an education or public sector setting.
  • Strong understanding of financial and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, dynamic, and energetic approach to work.
  • Must be willing to attend the Cambridge office every day.
