On behalf of our valued client, we are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team in Hednesford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a safety-conscious professional to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, drive best practices, and create a safe working environment across all our sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work (SSW), Policies, and other H&S documentation are kept up to date and reflect current best practices.

  • Produce Site Safety Files with specific SSW.

  • Maintain a skills matrix and plan re-qualification for employees.

  • Manage the issuance and recording of PPE.

  • Conduct new staff and site employee inductions.

  • Perform regular site audits to ensure compliance.

  • Investigate accidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions.

  • Coordinate Quarterly Safety Meetings to discuss and improve H&S practices.

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • IOSH or similar qualification is essential.

  • Strong understanding of Employment Law in relation to H&S.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Practical experience using Microsoft Office, especially SharePoint.

Performance Expectations:
  • Ensure all risk assessments, policies, and SSW documents are compliant with legal requirements and best practices, in collaboration with external safety advisors.

  • Maintain master documents on SharePoint.

  • Prepare and manage Site Safety Files.

  • Conduct bi-weekly audits of all civil sites and random audits for drainage jobs.

  • Ensure F10 documentation is applied for and kept current where necessary.

  • Retrieve and store site safety files upon contract completion.

  • Maintain all safety-related equipment as per manufacturer instructions, keeping test records up to date.

  • Oversee CHAS, Constructionline, and other certifying body certifications, ensuring timely renewals.

  • Ensure all PPE is issued and accepted by employees.
