Due to growth, an excellent opportunity has arisen with a commercial business in Cardiff who are now recruiting for a Finance Manager on a permanent basis.

The company has interests and activities in a variety of areas, some of which are active and others in various phases of development. The Finance Manager is a crucial and outward facing appointment as the company grows and will have responsibilities across Business Partnering, Budgeting and producing Management Information.

Finance Manager duties

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting with insightful financial analysis and commentary for stakeholders.
  • Business partnering across a range of diverse teams.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis, comparison and benchmarking.
  • Review actual spend against budget analysing variances by cost category and understanding underlying drivers of variances.
  • Ensure compliance with group accounting policies.
  • Identify and help implement system improvements and efficiencies.
  • Support the year end audit process.
  • Contribute to the development and administration of a robust internal financial control environment.

Finance Manager person specification

  • Professionally qualified Accountant.
  • Excellent software and Excel ability.
  • Experience of financial analysis and reporting.
  • Natural communicator, able to build relationships, understand others perspective and able to influence.
  • Able to question current processes and bring about change.
  • Commercially astute, able to support business growth opportunities.
