Finance Operations Team Leader - Cardiff

SRM Recruitment is partnered with a multi-national company to recruit a highly skilled and experienced Finance Operations Team Leader to lead their dynamic finance team in Cardiff. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and accurate execution of finance processes within their Shared Service Centre. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance operations, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Performance Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and regular performance feedback.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages professional growth and development.
  • Set clear performance expectations and monitor progress towards team goals, providing coaching and support to ensure individual and team success.

Finance Operations Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day execution of key finance processes within the Shared Service Centre, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and travel & expense processing.
  • Ensure adherence to established service level agreements (SLAs), delivering accurate and timely financial information to stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of finance operations.

Quality Control & Risk Management:

  • Implement and maintain robust quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and transactions.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks within finance operations, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth and efficient audit processes.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, including business unit finance teams, shared service leadership, and external vendors.
  • Proactively communicate with stakeholders regarding service delivery, process improvements, and any potential issues or delays.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in a finance operations role, preferably within a shared service centre environment.
  • Experience with D365 is desirable.
  • Proven experience leading and motivating a team of finance professionals.
  • Strong understanding of key finance processes and systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
