Key Responsibilities:
Technical Objectives:
- Serve as Project Executive for water environmental assessments for major infrastructure projects, providing technical oversight, quality control, and contractual compliance.
- Lead the creation of outputs such as:
- Hydrology, hydrogeology, and geology EIA chapters.
- Private water supply risk assessments and groundwater-dependent terrestrial ecosystem assessments.
- Peat surveys, management plans, and carbon balance assessments.
- Water Framework Directive and geomorphological assessments.
- Develop staff technical capabilities in areas like peat management, water quality, or river restoration.
- Mentor junior staff towards chartership with CIWEM, IEMA, or ICE.
- Line manage staff, conduct annual reviews, and set performance objectives.
Business Development & Project Management:
- Oversee up to 10 projects simultaneously, managing quality, budgets, and programmes.
- Act as Project Executive for projects up to 100k in value.
- Lead proposals and bids up to 100k.
- Develop and implement a marketing plan to grow your sector of the business, with growth targets linked to bonuses.
What Our Client is Looking For:
- Chartered professional status with CIWEM, IEMA, or ICE (or working towards it).
- Expertise in assessing development impacts on hydrological features, peatland habitats, and geomorphology.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Proven ability to manage and grow a consultancy business.
