Children's Social Worker - Support and Protect TeamCarlisle, UK£50 per hour

About Us:Randstad is working closely with the Support and Protect Team in Carlisle to recruit an experienced and dedicated Children's Social Worker.In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding vulnerable children and families, ensuring their safety, and promoting their welfare through targeted interventions.

Job Description:As a Children's Social Worker within the Support and Protect Team, you will manage complex cases involving children in need of protection.You will work to assess risk, develop care plans, and provide direct support to families, all while working collaboratively with multi-agency teams to achieve positive outcomes for children.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and families, conducting assessments to identify risk and needs.
  • Develop and implement protection plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children at risk.
  • Work in partnership with children, families, and external agencies to deliver tailored support.
  • Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, core groups, and other multi-agency meetings.
  • Prepare and present reports for court proceedings and attend court as necessary.
  • Ensure all casework is accurately recorded and compliant with legal and professional standards.
  • Regularly review and adjust care plans to respond to the changing needs of the child and family.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience working in child protection or a similar statutory social work role.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding policies, and child protection procedures.
  • Ability to manage a challenging caseload and work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience with court proceedings and report writing is highly desirable.
